As written by Alan Frost (Milly's owner):

Milly was our first Norwegian Forest cat, she was a Brown Tabby with White.

Sadly she passed away following a short illness on 9th Jan 2008. She is truly sorely missed.

She was a very friendly, sociable cat that never not lost any of her playfulness as time went on.
One of her favourite pastimes was running off with the washing up sponge!!

Who needs fluffy mice when there was a sponge about!

Milly produced some stunning kittens, that her memory will live on in.

MILLY

Your tears fall
Your heart aches
Your baby has gone away
Gone to heaven to play
The memories remain
Of the happy days
A meow and a purr
As you feel the soft fur
You gave your love
No more could you do
A short life of joy
For your baby and you
Off to heaven
your angel has gone
but within your heart
the love will live on
Standing in sorrow
and in your mind's eye
look into heaven
and please do not cry
For there in the Rainbow garden
Stands God and in his arms
An angel softly purring
It's your baby, safe from harm

Precious Love

The agony is so great...
and yet I will stand it.
Had I not loved so very much...
I would not hurt so much.
But God knows I would not want to diminish
that precious love...
By one fraction of an ounce.
I will hurt...
And I will be grateful for that hurt
For it bears witness to the depth of my love.
And for that I will be eternally grateful.

For Milly, xxx.

Lend Me A Kitten ~

I will lend to you for a while
a kitten, God said.
For you to love while she lives,
and mourn when she's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years,
or maybe two or three
But will you, 'till I call her back,
take care of her for me?

She'll bring her charms to gladden you
and should her stay be brief,
you'll always have her memories
as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay,
since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught below
I want this kitten to learn.

I've looked the whole world over
in search of teachers true,
And from the folk that crowds life's land
I have chosen you.
Now will you give her all your love,
nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take
my kitten home again?

And my heart replied,
"My Lord, Thy Will Be Done."
For all the joys this kitten brings,
the risk of grief I'll run.
I'll shelter her with tenderness,
I'll love her while I may
And for the happiness that I've known,
forever grateful stay.

But should you call her back
much sooner than I planned,
I'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
and try to understand.
If by my love I've managed
your wishes to achieve,
in memory of her sweet sweet love,
please help me while I grieve.

When my cherished kitten
departs this world of strife,
Please send yet another needing soul
for me to love all her life.

JAMIE'S POEM FOR MILLIE

By Jamie Frost:

Dearest Milly, you were one of a kind.
Asleep at my feet, never far behind,
You were a super mum, you were taken too soon.
You live on in your babies and watch from the moon.
Your children are running about, acting crazy.
But they all love a cuddle like you, being lazy.
We'll all miss you deeply, our sweet Milly Moo.
For all of your kindness and love, we thank you.
You made life for Al and his family, so very bright,
with humour at day break and cuddles at night.
We'll fondly remember you with a chuckle and grin
and we ask that you say hi to those who have been.
I wish you all the very best, now enjoy some well earned rest.
We hope that you are having fun - wherever you may be.
Don't forget us. We won't forget you.
With love, to you, from me.
